Comprehensive Plan Executive Summary

The Town of Hoosick 2025 Comprehensive Plan reestablishes the Community’s vision, identifies specific development and revitalization goals, as well as sets forth clear steps to implement the Plan’s recommendations. This plan replaces 2004 and 2014 editions. Through a planning process that brought together diverse stakeholders, partners, community leaders and the public at large, the Town has successfully completed this endeavor and is proud to present the Town of Hoosick 2025 Comprehensive Plan.

The preparation of this Plan was led by the Town Board. Members of the Town Planning Board and Town Zoning Board of Appeals assisted with the development of the Plan and participated in the community event used to engage the community and gain input on potential community interests, as part of setting strategies presented herein.

The planning process has allowed the Town to better understand changing economic conditions and identify community context and attributes, as well as local attitudes toward community needs. In addition, the process has identified development opportunities along with potential regulatory and land use adjustments to advance for the purposes of protecting public health, safety, and general welfare.

The Town of Hoosick would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the dedicated team that volunteered many hours of their time to complete the updated 2025 Comprehensive Plan, with special thanks to Mary Jackson Dres, Marianne Zwicklbauer, and Adria Diel.
