The Town of Hoosick Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee is working hard to help offer solutions to identified issues and/or concerns currently impacting our community. Transportation was identified as a barrier for our population. We reached out to a local organization, Community Caregivers. They are looking for volunteers from the Hoosick Falls area who are able to provide transportation to doctor's appointments, grocery shopping, and errands. (See the Community Caregivers flyer to learn more.)

Happy Spring, Hoosick!
As we do our best to put a long and cold winter behind us, we look forward to warmer weather, more sunshine, and longer days. As we do this, we certainly need to thank all of the Hoosick staff who manage taxes in our town. The first quarter of every year is very busy for both the tax assessor’s and the clerk’s office. Long days and plenty of stress come along with this time of year, and we are very fortunate to have the staff that we do in Hoosick. We send a big thanks to Holli and Ginny in the clerk’s office, and Tiffany and Cassandra in the assessor’s office. We appreciate you all very much. With that said, things are never perfect, and if you have any questions, please reach out to these folks as they are there to help.
Looking ahead, we are starting to switch gears from the winter rink season to the summer season. Thank you to the ~1,500 community members who came out to skate over the 27 skating sessions we offered! Summer camp information is posted, weeks are filling up, and we are preparing for the pool season. Check our website and Facebook page for important dates and information about swimming lessons. As a reminder, we still have employment opportunities for older kids, as camp counselors and lifeguards, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
Last but not least, we would like to say, “Thank you!” to the St. Patrick’s Day parade committee. Our small town and village truly know how to come together and celebrate, and the St. Patrick’s Day festivities are certainly no exception. It was great to see everyone enjoying the celebration, especially considering some chilly weather.
Thanks, Hoosick!
Eric Sheffer
