The Hoosick Township Historical Society, in collaboration with the Red Knights NY Chapter LIII, will hold its annual Armed Forces Day Remembrance Ceremony on Saturday, May 16, 2025, at 12:00 PM in Liberty Memorial Park, located within Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
This deeply meaningful event pays tribute to the 103 men from the Town of Hoosick who gave their lives in service to our nation. It is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and a steadfast promise to never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Highlights of the ceremony will include:
• The raising of the “Liberty” flag, which has flown over the graves of every fallen son of Hoosick, both stateside and overseas.
• The presentation of service flags representing each branch of the United States military.
• Musical performances of the National Anthem
• A moving roll call of the names of all 103 fallen servicemen, each symbolized by a white cross placed in their honor.
“This recognition is important because we have vowed to never let these brave men be forgotten,” said a representative from the Historical Society. “Their sacrifice is part of the very fabric of our community.”
The public is warmly invited to attend and participate in honoring these heroes. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as the program will begin promptly at noon.
