“Eleanor: The First Lady of the World” Comes to Hoosick Falls A Live Portrayal by Phyllis Chapman Wednesday, October 23 at 6:00 PM Louis Miller Museum, 166 Main Street, Hoosick Falls The Hoosick Township Historical Society invites the public to a special live performance, “Eleanor: The First Lady of the World,” an engaging portrayal of Eleanor Roosevelt by historical interpreter Phyllis Chapman. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 23 at 6:00 PM at the Louis Miller Museum in Hoosick Falls. Known as one of the most influential women of the 20th century, Eleanor Roosevelt (1884– 1962) redefined the role of First Lady and became a champion for human rights around the globe. President Harry Truman once referred to her as “The First Lady of the World,” recognizing her tireless advocacy for peace and equality through her work with the United Nations and beyond. During this captivating presentation, Chapman will bring Eleanor’s wit, warmth, and wisdom to life, offering audiences a personal glimpse into the woman who helped steer the nation through the Great Depression and World War II alongside her husband, President Franklin D. Roosevelt. After his death, Eleanor continued to serve as a leading voice for humanitarian causes worldwide. Suggested donation: $5 per person, payable at the door. Refreshments will be served following the presentation. Mark your calendars and join us for an inspiring evening celebrating the legacy of Eleanor Roosevelt — a woman whose vision for justice and compassion continues to shape our world today.
