Hey, Hoosick!
We made it through the first month and a half of the new year, and even though it’s been cold and wintry, we are getting closer to spring every day! In an effort to have more frequent communication with residents, I’m starting a monthly Community Newsletter for our residents to stay up to date on current and future happenings.
First of all, I would like to welcome Chris Bettis to the Town Board of Hoosick. He was officially appointed on January 1, 2026, to fill the open board seat. Chris has already hit the ground running, is getting right to work, and is a great addition to the team!
Next, I would like to recognize two of our departments that have been working extremely hard and are so very appreciated for all they do for our community. Superintendent of Highways, Paul Hoag, and the highway crew have been battling miserable weather, and they are doing an absolutely fantastic job. The crew truly goes above and beyond to ensure the safety of our residents, and I can’t thank them and acknowledge them enough! Recreation Director, Ashley St. Onge, and the recreation team have done an exceptional job throughout this winter Ice Rink season. They have navigated frigid temperatures, ice and snowstorms, and have done a great job keeping the rink open and safe for residents, and we thank them! Over the next few months, we will be working on increasing engagement with residents using both social media and our website, so stay tuned.
We love Hoosick!
Eric Sheffer
